Help us honor our SJS Teachers Community
The challenge at hand
We are coming together to let our teachers know we are with them. You helped shape each generation of successful graduates around the world. Without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Given the current challenging situation in Lebanon, you are always on our minds.
Here we are asking anyone and everyone to donate what they can to help support our teachers. Currently, their salary has reached an unacceptably low. If we lose our teachers, we lose our future. We need to do everything we can to support those who are helping our children succeed.
Together we formed the BISHOP ELIAS FARAH FUND. This fund commemorates Archbishop Farah, founder of St. Joseph School, renowned for his pioneering efforts in introducing Anglo-Saxon education to Catholic schooling in Lebanon.
The Fund objectives have been defined as follows:
- Offering Christmas gifts to teachers in the form of fresh money to counterbalance the loss of purchasing power of their LBP salaries. (Short-Term)
- Initiating an emergency fund for special needs that teachers may tap into based on preset criteria, in the form of interest-free loans. (Medium-Term)
- Creating a safety net for retired teachers through funding urgent needs related to healthcare and hospitalization, if needed in the absence of proper pension system. (Long-Term)
2021 - 2022 Plan
This effort is only a small token of our gratitude for your enormous contribution to society. Our current goal is to raise $50K by Dec 15, 2021, allowing us to provide teachers with a much-needed fresh cash payment.
While this fund can cover short-term needs, our future goals include an emergency fund for special needs that teachers may tap into based on preset criteria in the form of interest-free loans. In addition to creating a safety net for retired teachers through urgent funding needs related to healthcare and hospitalization, if needed in the absence of a proper pension system.
